Am and Shawn Lee's Celestial Electric

AM and Shawn Lee's collaboration is quite the peculiar one. The group began their collaboration through an email that drummer Lee sent to London rock artist AM eventually sparking the pair's artistic partnership. What do you get from this long distance duo? Celestial Electric- a shimmering, driven record, that hypnotizes with psychedelic rifts, and percussive change-ups. Some of my favorite tracks include, "The Signal", which takes you on a experimental disco ride, "Jackie Blue" with its little rougher edge that grooves into a catchy up-beat chorus, and "Somebody Like You" that brings Fitz and the Tantrums to mind. This album is real 70s, early 80s, and full of trip-y guitar solos... one you can relax and chill to. Also to be mentioned is "Dark in Light", a track that utilizes some great synth rifts but still has all the gliding dreamy vocal-isms as the rest of the album. Dark in Light is free on Itunes this week, so go get it!
