NEW VIDEO: Lana Del Rey "Young and Beautiful"
Lana Del Rey. Get on board people. Del Rey aka Lizzy Grant, debuted her first studio album, Lana Del Rey a.k.a. Lizzy Grant in January 2010. Soon after her smash single "Video Games" came out with a self created video via You Tube her second album, Born to Die, was released in January of 2012.
Del Rey will be joining a slew of heavy hitters this year in Grant Park for Lollapalooza, but til' then enjoy her latest video for "Young and Beautiful," featured on the soundtrack for the The Great Gatsby.

Here is a sneak peak of what I'm bringing on my trip. This time next week, I'll be in Mexico. I always find it hard to pack for vacation, but once I get there, I end up wearing half what I packed and I've learned when traveling, I barley wear makeup and live in comfy clothes.
1. Dresses are always key for warm weather travel, since they can be dressed up and down.
2. Leave the heels at home. First of all they take up tons of space and you never really end up wearing them. Flip flops and a closed toe shoe. Whether you opp for sneakers or Toms, a closed toe shoe is always good for the bike ride or long walk.
3. Sunglasses!! Ahhh sunnies, you have to pack at least two pairs assuming they will barley leave your face, and are a key fashion accessory.
4. Bring nail polish to touch up.
5. Sunscreen, resorts always will get you on this, load up!
6. Multi functional bag, a bag you can use as a carry on and a beach bag. After all less is more.
7. At least 2 swim suits, lets me honestly, you will probably be in it more then a bra and underwear, so you might as well bring a couple.
8. Shorts, gotta have shorts for those adventure hikes and zip linning.
9. MUSIC, fill up that iPod with tunes! I personally like downloading albums I haven't had a chance to listen to yet.
10. ADVIL/Airborn, ummm lets face it, you will need the advil, and who wants to get sick, on vaca, so load up on Airborn to boost your immune system.

Vampire Weekend has a lot to talk about, dropping a new album Modern Vampires of the Day, on May 14, and hitting Grant Park in August for Lollapalooza. Releasing their first album in January 2008, I listened to the album on repeat the entire summer, and even fought my way to front to see them play live at Pitchfork that same year. How couldn't you be memorized by catchy songs like Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa, Oxford Comma, and A-Punk?!I think everyone wanted to be stuck with Ezra and the rest of the band in Cape Cod that summer jamming to this album. Not only did the VW crew come out with bang with their first album, they were also known for their rather preppy style for an indie band. Sporting Sperry's and plaid for a lot of their shows, it truly looks like they did escape from the prepster hangout of the cape.

Wicker Park Festival 2013 Line up, more to come!
Wicker Park Festival has become an amazing music festival the last few year, almost like a mini Pitchfork, again this year they haven't disappointed, already announcing, having Man Man, Bahamas, and much buzzed about Cults for Saturday. Sunday, Roky Erickson, Ted Leo and the Pharmacists. I'll be on the edge of my seat waiting for what else their is to come, stay tuned!

Foot for Thought - Bucketfeet
My personal new obsession, BUCKETFEET, for many reasons, first off they are unique, cool and the perfect summer shoe to bum around in. Secondly, they are a local Chicago brand, I always admire a new start up, in my home town. Lastly, they are designed by various artists that come up with quite the cool prints.

NEW SONG: MGMT "Alien Days"
Ello boys. MGMT released their new single, Alien Days, on Record Store Day (April 20) as a cassette single. The song will be featured on the band's third album (reportedly coming out in June 2013). We love it. You should too. Check it out!!!
