Sleigh Bells duo, Alexis Krauss and Derek Miller, teamed up with Chicago rapper, Tink, to debut a killer collaboration with the track "That Did It." The track dropped yesterday via Rolling Stone and was the product of Red Bull Sound Select after Sleigh Bells and Tink shared the stage at this year's SXSW music festival. We love to hear Krauss' ethereal vocals mashed up with Tink's rhyme, almost as much as we love the Chicago girl on her own. You can download the track on iTunes, or check it out via soundcloud below!

Casimer & Casimir - O Sweet Joe Pye
Case of the Mondays? Take a break with this super sweet song from Chicago based uncle and nephew duo: Casimer & Casimir "O Sweet Joe Pye." The Detroit natives found themselves joining forces in 2012 and spent their days with french film, 60s sounds and more 'til the band was born. Enjoy, because we certainly do.

Every Lollapalooza there are ultimately some similarities between the way the lineup is organized for the massive festival. Various genres have to be considered so that Lollapalooza can truly provide something for every music lover. We've compiled a short list of some acts we're really quite excited to see this year and paired them with an artist who performed at last year's festival. Take this guide as a sort of.."If you liked them in 2012, then you'll be sure to LOVE this band in 2013.

The look for less
fall mix and match by jsnovak featuring calvin klein socks
While New York Fashion Week is in full swing showcasing all that is on trend for spring and summer 2013, let's take a moment to remind ourselves that it is finally fall. Finally time to bust out some of those looks we got oh so excited about in January during NYFW. This fall rules seem to go out the window in exchange for head to toe prints, mixing and matching and layering like nobody's business. Chicago, this season EVERYONE will layer. Anna Sui, Miu Miu, Prada, Marc Jacobs and so many more showcased a free falling palette of prints, textures and color that is sure to make a beautiful statement in any wardrobe.
However, if you can't afford the looks right off the runway, then might I suggest shopping around, using some vintage finds mixed with lush fabrics to recreate the look for less! This season have fun with your wardrobe and step outside of fall conventions and mix and match to create an individual look that showcases your style and personality.

What You Should be doing Tuesday Night
It takes some unique individuals with passion and good humor to make an impact in the music world. Enter Kenny Alden, front man for Magic Milk. After starting
as the sole member and walking through a seemingly revolving door of band mates, it would seem as though Magic Milk has finally found some solidity in its members. With some friend making via Craig's List, Alden's
trio has made their name as a solid contender in the garage rock scene in Chicago. However if you ask him he'll tell you that their music
is more “cellphone-knife-fight-psych-punk” that will hopefully, maybe just one day, get them noticed by Metallica, Alden says.
Their numerous EPs have given them a
solid foundation to progress into the larger scene of alternative
music and they are currently working on a second album. Their most recent EP, Mellows, features a more well rounded collection of their sound than previous EPs, suggesting that this band will not solely belong to Chicago for too much longer. Check out their music via bandcamp, facebook or at their website by clicking here.
Their next show this Tuesday at the Subterranean features not only Magic Milk, but also a variety of Chicago including Slushy, Dead Mellotron, The Bingers and more. It's set to be a rad night and for $8 , you can't really lose. Between Alden's encouraging antics of performing sans pants and the band's killer drums,
courtesy of Maggie Laleman, every Magic Milk show offers a night of unapologetic fun that gets their audience out of their seats and on the floor. Pants off and party on.

Pride Weekend!
With Pride taking over the streets of Chicago this weekend the inevitable question of what to wear is bound to come. Pride festivities are a glorious thing for Chicago fashionistas because it gives a valuable excuse to wear anything, without restrain. On this oh so precious weekend the hidden gems of our closets are invited to come out to play. Thus the question is how to pay due to these items while still looking stylish and on trend. The key is to pick a statement piece and rock it out! Sequins, studs, rainbows and patterns galore are all valid options if you give them their own individual voice, rather than creating an overcomplicated outfit that doesn't transition back into your daily life. Pairing a statement skirt with a simple, monochromatic bralet beats the heat while still being fun and parade friendly. Incorporate glitter and sequins by pairing them with cotton basics to dress them down for daytime. By incorporating a focal point you can boast your wild style, while still remaining chic on the streets!

An Interview with Walk the Moon
Walk the Moon recently rocked the Riv with Young the Giant. As previously mentioned, I was in the emergency room while they were doing their thing, but I chatted with their bassist Kevin Ray on the phone after the fact.
"It's a dream come true," he says about his band's growing popularity. They're on a break in Cleveland while I'm talking to him, but heading to an emergency room - one of their members might have food poisoning. I offer my condolences, and ask how the journey to prominence in the music world has felt.
"We were so out of our minds a year ago," Kevin says. Everything was happening so fast, but now that they have a great team behind them, they feel a bit more prepared, he says.
"We feel like we're a little more mature."
So, I asked him, if you could have dinner with three musicians, alive or dead, who would they be?
This is not an easy question. He takes his time and ponders, which I like. Quick answers aren't always the best.
His first choice is Flea from Red Hot Chili Peppers.
"He helped define what it means to be a live performer, especially for a bassist. I'd love to pick his brain," Kevin says. His second choice is either Keith Moon or John Bonham - unique drummers and performers that he admires. Last (but not at all least), Michael Jackson.
"He was such a kook. It would have been amazing to get to know him myself."
It's not just about the music for Walk the Moon - there's a package (which you can see from their video).
"We all really, really like performing," says Kevin. "All of us are very big on letting our personalities show on stage."
I ask if he has anything else to tell Chicago.
"We're so thankful for all the love we've gotten," he says. "It feels like sort of a second home for us."
I'm sorry to have missed their show. I'll have to catch it next time around, and wear some face paint.
