Real Estate: Days.

Real Estate's new album released today entitled, Days, glides and echos with a sense of comforting haziness that takes ahold of you on a gloomy day like today. It's easy to get caught up in the band's lovely reverb-ing qualities, as it is so easy to start day dreaming with a hovering mass of grey clouds above your head. But at the same tim, you find on each track of Days, a reminder that you must keep functioning through this nebulous state as the listener is propelled by the swaying, almost melancholic nature of the album's serene melodies. Track, "Kinder Blumen" (or "Flower Children" in german) is a great instrumental track that is a fantastic segue into the shyly, upfront song "Out of Tune". Coyly, Real Estate finds a way to seamlessly incorporate elements of 60s/70s nostalgia in discreet way, and takes you a calm journey from start to finish.

Real Estate has a new single, say what?

Real Estate at Pitchfork in July 2010

At Pitchfork back in July at Union Park, Chicago, I caught Real Estate. They were one of my favorite bands I saw. Now they have a new single out "True Panther." One of the songs is featured below, take a listen!

Pitchfork 2010- Day 2, what an amazing day! Sun, heat, music, Chicago, and wonderful music! What more good a girl ask for? Anyways I wasn't able to get a press pass I made the best of the day, and tried to take as many picture as I could. Kicking the day off, we check out Real Estate who rocked p4k house down. They were such an incredible way to start off day 2. Then we made our way over to Kurt Vile, who was amazing, and plus his stage was in the shade which helped a lot, and we were able to relax. Then Dam-Funk, who made my energy level go up a few notches, next The Smith Westerns kicking it. Brief non-dairy ice-cream break, then off to Wolf Parade who were just so amazing, they were just a really fun band to listen too, I wish I were able to get a little closer to the stage. Then the one man show Panda Bear, who had the stage to himself, with incredible sound and feel and of course to wrap thing up LCD Soundsystem. LCD Soundsystem was simply WOW! what an amazing show, I think they blew my mind and were so much better at p4k then they were at Coachella. I don’t know if it was Chicago or the crowd but they were simply just one of the best shows I’ve seen. The crowd was going nuts everyone was singing and dancing around, glow sticks in the air and hands in the air like you just don’t care!!! If you want to see more pictures of Pitchfork 2010 please go check out my friend Chris at Harmon Drive’s. Go here.
