Vampire Weekend is looking very "Modern"

Vampire Weekend has a lot to talk about, dropping a new album Modern Vampires of the Day, on May 14, and hitting Grant Park in August for Lollapalooza. Releasing their first album in January 2008,  I listened to the album on repeat the entire summer, and even fought my way to front to see them play live at Pitchfork that same year. How couldn't you be memorized by catchy songs like Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa, Oxford Comma, and A-Punk?!

I think everyone wanted to be stuck with Ezra and the rest of the band in Cape Cod that summer jamming to this album. Not only did the VW crew come out with bang with their first album, they were also known for their rather preppy style for an indie band. Sporting Sperry's and plaid for a lot of their shows, it truly looks like they did escape from the prepster hangout of the cape.

New! Vampire Weekend Video, Yahh or Nahhh??

The ever so interesting Vampire Weekend, Giving Up the Gun video, with some celebrity guest stars. I'm not really sure what to think of the video and song? The part where Jake Gyllenhaal is drinking and the rips off his pants and has these tiny little tennis shorts was quite entertaining. Maybe he was mad at Reese?

Vampire Weekend, NEW Album to come!

I was thrilled to find out this week in an email from Vampire Weekend, that they have a new album coming out in January 12, 2010. The title is Contra, I sent Ezra a tweet to find out who the chick on the CD cover is and why the name Contra? We shall see if I get an answer, fingers crossed. I don't know about you all, but I'm thrilled for the CD release since hearing them at Pitchfork a few years ago, I have been on the edge of my seat waiting for more VW!
