YAWN opened on the rather cold May night in Chicago, I entered Lincoln Hall and made a bee line right to the stage. They were about to go on, then soon after they went on stage the room filled up rather fast. YAWN a band from with Chicago roots. Their catchy tunes, hipster head bobbing worthy tunes streamed through out the room. YAWN's sound sort of has a Caribbean sound, I picture being out on boat with the wind blowing and the fresh sea air. What do you all think?Download the album here for FREE.
Next up was Yuck, they were everything but "Yuck," they were yreat! A set which seemed to go way too fast, this band put me in a music trance!
The final act, Tame Impala, the band from down under amazed me with their long set and no final act, because drummer Jay Watson, said "we always leave before the final act, so we don't do that." Then proceeding to gush about the vending machines at the Hard Rock where the band is staying for it's two days in Chicago. The bands music reminds me of a surf video, I can also see all the shaggy hair band members catching a wave themselves.
Guess what, you can still catch these three acts tonight at Lincoln Hall, the show is sold out, but maybe you can hustle someone on the street corner for a ticket. Milkshake by Yuck
