From start to finish, I felt like I was on a giant trip with Colourmusic’s “My ___ is Pink”. The beats on this album are extremely trance inducing, and with ghostly voices on every track, I feel like it's the perfect accompaniment for a walk down the Chi-town city streets at night. It makes you feel powerful, and pumps you up with every track because of its sound mass, psychedelic qualities, and its danceable, rocking, rhythmic intensity. This conceptual album seamlessly melds together and compelled me to keep listening as each track brought a new surprising musical mixture to my ears. I especially love the use of Classic Rock, Punk, and Gospel influences on “You For Leaving” and also the Jazz, House feel on “Dolphins and Unicorns”. Colourmusic is coming to Subterranean this Friday (7/29), and it’s definitely something I don’t want to miss!!!!
